A very broad spectrum of buildings and structures are involved.
Such projects can include private individuals who own the building; or community groups taking responsibility of a building on behalf of their community; or public bodies wishing to protect and preserve structures for the wider common good; to buildings which are being considered for commercially based redevelopment.
In all of those cases there are additional controls applied by the Authorities, such as the buildings being within a conservation area, or they have one of the various forms of listing or they are scheduled monuments.
In several instances such projects involve some form of grant assistance which in turn brings further considerations and controls being applied to the development by the Authorities.
Where grant funding is also involved for the project it is usually the case that our Specialist with Accreditation (Category A) in Conservation must be involved while many of our other projects do not have such a requirements.
That said, whether there is a specific requirement for the involvement of said Accreditation we still apply the same degrees of care, understanding and experience to the project.
